What to do.

 

Just submit an idea to us, and desirably a draft document or the beginnings of a document, and will post it on the website as its own project and encourage people to contribute to it.

 

As they contribute, we’ll send the revisions of the document to you for your edit and approval. Eventually, when the document is complete we’ll help you copyright it in your name, if you want.

 

So what?

 

It depends on the document and on you, If you want to publish it, we’ll help you do that. If you distributed it through social media we’ll help you do that. If you just want to keep it or use it for your own purposes – that’s fine, it’s yours.

 

Regardless of the final destination of your document(s) we ask that all PRO contributors and PRO Research be acknowledge on documents produce at PRO. That’s it - no fees, no charges, just acknowledgment.

 

What you can't do -

 

This is not a place for proselytizing of politics or religion. But, it is the place for discussing them, debating them and understanding them. We may want to discuss the idea that Nate Silver is endowed with omniscient powers, but we don’t want to proselytize it here.

 

It’s the same for pornography, abortion, minority rights, and on and on. The website is not a place to promote them or degradate them, but it is a place to discuss them and understand them.

 

What’s this all about?

 

Pain - If you substitute the word “information” for “education,” Fred Friendly’s quote explains it all: “The real purpose of information is to make decision-making so painful that relief only comes from thinking.”

 

Well, if that’s about as clear as mud, try this – Just be respectful, yep respectful, to the people and ideas that are discussed on this website, even if you don’t like them, and you’ll find your involvement here will be useful, interesting and beneficial.
